REFLECTION

I already knew what ideas I would like to create in my music video from when planning on what song I was choosing. I had a few ideas in the back of my mind that I knew I would want to have in my music video. The first idea was right at the beginning of the video. I create a PNG photo of the bands logo to put over the screen. I enjoyed learning how to do this as it boosted my skills in Photoshop. First of all i downloaded a photo off the internet and imported into Photoshop. I made the white background disappear so the only thing left was the 'Easy Life' logo. I then exported it as a PNG and imported it into my Premiere Pro. Im really happy about how this turned out. The second idea I knew I wanted was at 00:01:18:28. This part of the song is a bit slower than the rest so i thought a slow motion run would fit perfectly to the music. I also added the effect 'Posterize Time'. This effect takes out some seconds out of the clip to create a stop/start motion. I thought this looked really cool as its different to the rest of my video, thats because the editing is matched to the beat and the beat of the song is quite fast, so changing up the duration and speed of the video is quite unique. I also decided to put a blend effect into my music video. I did this when the song slowed down. This gave the effect of memories and the main character dreaming. I also slowed down the clips so it was in slo-motion. I think this turned out really well.
In my edit, I also changed a few things to the colour of my footage. I made the footage fade more to make it lighter but still keep the natural saturation. I did this because it matches the aesthetic the song and the people who listens to the band. I kept the faded colour throughout the whole of the music video. The reason it matches their aesthetic is because i did research through Instagram and found a few fan accounts of the band. I copied their colour edits into my music video.
I decided to edit my clips to match the beat of the song. I chose to do this as I thought it would look really effective especially as the video has quite fast beats. I really like how this turned out. The clips are long enough to understand what I've filmed. As you can see in the picture above to the left, the green marks underneath show where every single beat is. By putting these markers there made it a lot easier for me to match the videos perfectly on to the beat. Overall, I'm really happy how it came out.
